Enjoy a fun-filled day of games, activities and learning at this family-friendly festival! Monarch Fest will feature guest speakers from the Monarch Research Project, Monarchs of Eastern Iowa and ICNC staff; tours of the butterfly hoop house; and the chance to make milkweed seed balls. You will learn everything you need to know for the monarch rearing season, including monarch biology, how and why to raise caterpillars indoors, and how to create pollinator gardens. Children will enjoy games and planting activities. Celebrate the journey these extraordinary butterflies make every year and why they are so important to our planet.

Don't forget to grab your milkweed plugs too! Monarch Zones is supplying a free milkweed plug give away during Monarch Fest. A signed waiver means you'll plant the plug in the right location at home, and Monarch Zones will add your plants to their database. Walk away with the knowledge you need to help Iowa's Monarch populations!
