Meet and celebrate the accomplishments of Team 99 Counties runners Dennis Lee and Daren Schumaker at an event hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters. 

These men are heroes who set a goal to run a marathon in each of Iowa’s 99 counties and raise money and awareness for the American Heart Association. Hear stories of their dreams, trials, perseverance and finally, success in their accomplishments. A hero’s welcome will be hosted Monday June 12 th beginning at 7 PM at the Indian Creek Nature Center, followed by a presentation by the runners. The night will commence with refreshments on the patio and a chance for pictures, autographs and a personal introduction. Reservations are required and space is limited to the first 200 people. The message provided by Team 99 will inspire mentors and children served by Big Brothers Big Sisters to reach their own personal goals. Daren is currently serving as a Big Brother to Tyler. Dennis was previously involved in the program as a mentor. “Leave your comfort zone. Tough times don’t last, but tough people do. Trust your vision, as vision is the ability to see things invisible,” are inspiring messages shared by Daren throughout their journey.
