“Go outside. Don’t tell anyone and don’t bring your phone. Start walking and keep walking until you no longer know the road like the palm of your hand.... Just walk, see, sit down if you like. And be. Just be, whatever you are with, whatever you have, and realize that that is enough to be happy. There’s a whole world out there, right outside your window. You’ll be a fool to miss it.” —Charlotte Eriksson, author and musician
What better time of year than now to join others in a silent meditative walk? This hour allows participants to shift their attention away from thoughts of consumerism and attachments, and turn towards the sights and sounds of nature. Participants will have the option to quietly greet others at arrival. After a brief introduction, Audree from Walking in Mindfulness will lead a silent meditative walk. While the walk itself is silent, participants are welcome to stay after to socialize. Because of the nature of this walk, music in earbuds, cell phones, and dogs are not allowed. Children are welcome so long as they abide by the concept of walking in silence. Preregistration required. M $4; NM $6; children under 12 are free.
