Outdoor Family Adventure: Nature Stories and Play
(Preschool-2nd Grade)

Program Description: Join us as we share some of our favorite nature story books and stories about nature. Each day will feature different stories. Explore nature with your family to help create your own stories and adventures.

Pre-registration is required for all in-person programs. We cannot accept walk-in participants. Thank you!

Daily Schedule:

10-10:30am Morning meeting with lessons or demonstrations related to our theme and activities of the day. This will take place EITHER outdoors at the Nature Center or via Zoom in inclement weather.

10:30am-? Self-guided activities, either at the Nature Center (outdoors only), at your home or another location of your choosing.

Please note:

-- Social distancing between families is strongly encouraged during meetings and activities that take place at the Nature Center, both during scheduled meeting times and during self-guided explorations outdoors.

-- Parents and guardians are responsible for in-person adult supervision of all activities, and to help maintain appropriate social distancing.

-- All household members are invited to participate in activities together, but the activities will be targeted at and most appropriate for the ages specified.

-- Program participants will be sent an information packet about self-guided activities ahead of time. Self-guided activities will include options for activities that can be done either at home or at the Nature Center to choose from.

-- Programs will run rain or shine, and have options for both indoor and outdoor explorations and activities. Parents and guardians are responsible for monitoring weather conditions during outdoor explorations regardless of location and making appropriate activity choices.

-- No guided indoor activities will take place at the Nature Center or be facilitated by the Nature Center. In case of inclement weather, the morning meeting will be held on Zoom only, instead of outdoors at the Nature Center.

-- Sunscreen and bug spray, active clothing and sturdy shoes that can get dirty are recommended for outdoor activities as needed, and are the responsibility of parents and guardians.

-- Payment for each session is on a sliding scale. Each day will have different activities, so families can choose which day(s) of each session to attend.
