Calling all Boy Scouts! Merit Badge Day gives you an opportunity to work with a team of experts in Environmental Science, Wilderness Survival, Hiking, Bird Study, Geology, Nature, Orienteering, and Weather. Sign up for a morning session (8-11 AM), afternoon session (12-3 PM) or stay for the full day.

Dress for the weather. Attendance limited to 25 Boy Scouts per badge workshop. Preregistration required. $12 per session. Two sessions available with an hour lunch between. Scouts are responsible for own lunches. 

**Prior to arriving for merit badge day, scouts are expected to have read through their corresponding merit badge book and to have thought about the requirements. 

Please note, workshops will occur at two locations on our campus!
Amazing Space (5300 Otis Rd SE): Bird Study, Weather, Geology, Nature Studies, and Wilderness Survival
The Barn (6665 Otis Rd SE): Environmental Science, Orienteering, and Hiking

Morning Sessions (8:00am - 11:00am)

Bird Study - Scouts will attempt requirements 1 through 6 during the workshop. Scouts are responsible for requirements 7 and 8 on their own. This session will take place at Amazing Space (5300 Otis Rd SE).

Nature - Scouts will attempt requirements 1-3, 4a, 4b, 4c and 4e at the workshop. Scouts are responsible for one other requirement from 4 (d, f, g or h) on their own. This session will take place at Amazing Space (5300 Otis Rd SE).

Orienteering - Scouts will attempt requirements 1 through 6 during the workshop. Scouts are responsible for requirements 7 - 10 on their own. This session will take place at the Barn (6665 Otis Rd SE).

Weather - Scouts will attempt requirements 1 through 8 during the workshop. Scouts are responsible for requirements 9-11 on their own. This session will take place at Amazing Space (5300 Otis Rd SE).

Afternoon sessions (12:00 - 3:00 pm)

Geology -  Scouts will attempt requirements 1 through 5a during the workshop. This session will take place at Amazing Space (5300 Otis Rd SE).

Hiking -  Scouts will attempt requirements 1-3 and part of 4 at the workshop. Please come with a 10 mile hike in mind that you would like to do, and a map of that area. The rest of requirement 4 and requirements 5 - 7 must be completed on your own. This session will take place at the Barn (6665 Otis Rd SE).

Environmental Science - Scouts will attempt requirements 2, 3a, 3c, 3g, 4a, and start requirement 5 during the workshop. Scouts are responsible for requirement 1, 3b, 3d, 3e, 3f, 6, and finishing 5 on their own. This session will take place at Amazing Space (5300 Otis Rd SE).

Wilderness Survival - Scouts will attempt requirements 1- 7, and 9-12 at the workshop. Shelter building will be reviewed, but requirement 8's overnight stay must be completed on your own elsewhere. This session will take place at Amazing Space (5300 Otis Rd SE).
